The self proclaimed diva of Pakistan, Veena Malik, has of late
announced that she has signed a remake of “The Dirty Picture”. She
tweeted this news on the social media website “Twitter” on Tuesday. The
movie is a south version of the 2011 blockbuster that featured Vidya
Balan and Naseeruddin Shah.
“Super excited to be the part of south film industry……just signed “THE DIRTY PICTURE”, tweeted Veena Malik.
The 2011 Bollywood blockbuster was acclaimed for the performances of
Vidya Balan but it was also criticized for its nudity and sensual effect
portrayed by the actress. The movie was based on the story of Silk
Smitha, an actress belonging to the South industry. Smitha was largely
criticized in her era for her portrayal of nudity, such that she was
classified as a “soft porn actress”.
With Veena’s entry into Bollywood not taking off as per her desire,
she is considered to have enhanced her controversial effect by speeding
up her nudity effect so as earn the so called “cheap publicity”.
